Q. What is Stress and Anxiety?
A. Stress is the amount of
pressure that we are under at any point in our lives. We live in a
culture of many choices and very little guidance and find ourselves,
for various reasons. struggling with the ongoing demands.
Anxiety originates from a natural survival trait of human nature in
order to stay safe when presented with potentially dangerous
situations. However many people experience this in today’s society as
a result continual uncertainty and fear in our life situations as well
as the fear of the unknown within our futures.
Many people feel that they have failed as a result of not being able
to cope and as a consequence our value of ourselves and confidence
suffers. There are various long term effects of being a sufferer of
stress and/or anxiety, these include; physical effects of various
kinds, restrictions in life style, poor self-esteem, depression,
excessive Anger and breakdowns in personal and working relationships.
This course has been running successfully within the N.H.S, Devon, for
ten years.
Q. How will the course help?
A. Understanding exactly what
stress and anxiety is and how to actively manage will, in turn, enable
you to counteract it and reduce its effect’s. How we think about
ourselves and cope within our lives is essential to how we view
ourselves. By accepting stress and anxiety as a normal but manageable
part of life, you will feel more able to take back control and lead a
more positive life.

A. Any one who would like to
find relief from stress and anxiety and is interested in understanding
and learning how to achieve this.
Q. How is it different?
A. This is a practical,
guided, self- help course which will enable you to continue with its
practice and techniques after you have completed the course.
Q. How long is the course?
A. Individual courses= I
initial meeting + 6 one hour sessions.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. Total cost £ 175.00 or £25.00 per session.
Groups = one day course = £180.00 for up to six people + £20.00 per
additional person.
