FAQ

Q. What is Creative Therapy including Art Therapy?

Creative therapy has only recently been recognised a few years ago, as it is an alternative to main stream therapies.

Creative therapy is based on the philosophy that everyone is innately creative and by exploring this further, a client is able to gain an insight to their creative nature. This may be explored by the media of art, creative writing, dance, music or craft work.

Its aim is to ‘bring into being by the means of friendly help’ and to promote a response to the need to be creative. Through self discovery, fun and exploration, a further understanding of who we are as individuals and our human natures can be gained.

Art therapy is a more established form of therapy. It has long been recognised that by using the medium of art with a client on a therapeutic basis for the purposes of counselling, a connection to the subconscious can be achieved. This in turn can reveal hidden motives and feelings that are not being recognised. Its aim is to help address these by further using art to identify and find release.

Trained as a Creative therapist, which included Art therapy, my philosophy is to creatively work with my clients and this may included art therapy depending on the individual nature and needs of the client.

Q. How much will it cost?

A. Total cost £180.00 or £30.00 per session, concessions available.
